The Whisperer In Darkness (Empire On-Demand Review)

Re-Animator, From Beyond, In the Mouth of Madness and Cast A Deadly Spell are all good fun, but nobody has really nailed horror author H.P. Lovecraft on film – until now. Made by the H.P. Lovecraft Historical Society, in the style of 1930s horror films, this adaptation brilliantly captures Lovecraft’s peculiar combination of dread, suggestion and cosmic grandeur, as Albert Wilmarth (Matt Foyer) uncovers a conspiracy involving cultists and alien crustaceans.

Empire rating: ★★★★
