Amin Jaafari (Paradise Now’s Ali Suliman), a Palestinian surgeon working in Israel, is devastated when a terrorist bombing claims the life of his beloved wife Sihem (Evgena Dodena), and eighteen more innocent lives. But when the smoke clears, Jaafari is informed that Sihem herself was the suicide bomber, and sets out on a soul-searching quest to prove her innocence. Ziad Doueiri’s fresh, nuanced and level-headed film pulses with vitality.
