The Addams Family (Empire Blu-Ray Review)

AddamsFamilySquareA burial is the nearest thing you’ll get to a plot in the first, and best, big screen outing for Charles Addams’ blackly comic New York cartoons, via the 1960s TV show. But visual stylist Barry Sonnenfeld’s film is so exquisitely cast, imaginatively staged and splendidly played, it matters little that the story – a potential imposter in the creepy/kooky/mysterious/spooky/altogether ooky family’s midst – is as slender as Morticia Addams’ fingers.
